I’m not sure if you’re still answering emails or not, but I wanted to get your insight. My exboyfriend and I dated for nearly 5 years. We were “college sweethearts” and he broke up with me in April saying that he didn’t want to be in a relationship anymore and wanted to grow as an independent person. We were living together at the time and remained roommates until our lease ended in August. Since the breakup we’ve still be best friends, hanging out with each other, calling each other, etc. but he’s recently decided to move to a different city in Jan. in hopes of finding a better job. I am devastated that he is leaving yet I know it’s for the best because he wants to focus on his career. He reassures me that things will be fine and we’ll still hang out all the time and we can visit one another. But I am confused because I feel like in the future he’ll want to get back together, but he has said that we are just best friends and I need to stop thinking that we’ll get back together. He said he will always love me and always be my best friend and he’s not the type to make empty promises like that. Any suggestions as to what I should do?
